The Hill of the Raven Scooter Club

It didn’t matter what I was or when, I always returned to my Mod roots. Although a 2nd generation Mod, I loved the way they dressed, the music and the fact that they stuck together and always got the better looking girls.

My decision was made. Mod for me, don’t get me wrong I spent a lot of time as a biker because I have a bike, a Yamaha Warrior Silverado 1700cc to be exact and I love it.

But when the movie Quadrophenia was released in May 1979, it became a revelation for many, and I decided then, this is what I want to be, and I really want a scooter just like some of the ones in the film, now all the way through time and different genres of music, for me and many more, Mods remained priority and it was a simple transition into Northern Soul & Motown.

Through the past few years, and our love for the Northern Soul scene, we even joined Northern Soul Dance Classes to freshen us up, the classes were run by Linda (Woody) Woodside and it reminded me of going back to my years at the Palais in Bathgate. I’m going to the classes, we have been privileged enough to meet many new like minded friends. We’ve even added certain people as an extension to our family and they are friends forever, welcome the Widsy’s.
