In a recent government programme, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit revealed how Dominica’s first international airport will bolster tourism by improving air access to the island. The project is expected to begin construction in the first quarter of 2021 and is funded by Dominica’s Citizenship by Investment Programme.
According to Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, around 411 acres of land has been acquired for the project and compensation to landowners should be complete by the end of the month. Once completed, the airport will help support Dominica’s emerging eco-tourism sector that has already gained the attention of globally renowned publications like the Caribbean Travel Awards and Travel + Leisure.
